Visa extension - Fund maintenance from mother's account

Post by prathibhaevelyn » Fri Jan 06, 2012 1:21 pm

I'm a MSc student on a student Tier 4 visa valid till the 6th of March, 2012. I have got a Phd offer in the same university for a duration of 3+1 years. I have to pay a fees of £1000 per annum alone for 3 years. I need to apply for a student visa extension from the UK itself and I would like to know what is the minimum balance that I would have to maintain in my circumstances.
I believe that I need to show total £2200, breakup is £1000 towards my fees for first year and £1200 (£600*2 months) towards Living Cost in UK(established presence studying in the UK),
I can show only part amount on my account, would like to know if it is possible to show the rest of the funds in India from my mother's bank account? If yes please let me know what documents required from my mother.

Also, I have jsut finished my exams for my MSc, and awaiting for my results, but my university has agreed to provide me admission for Phd, and I got my CAS letter as well. But in my CAS letter they have mentioned my qualification as my undergraduate(since I am awaiting for Msc results). Will there be any issues on visa application? Wat qualification do I need to mention in the application form.

Thanks in advance.

If you need urgent advice then consider paying for it, speak to your university's international student advisor, or take the time to read the policy guidance where you will find answers to your questions.
