Tier 1 (General) Extension - As long term unemployed

Post by nealsu » Tue Jan 10, 2012 12:33 pm

Hi,

I just wanted to check if anyone has used the 15month threshold on earnings before. The points based calculator says you can claim 12months consecutive earnings within the last 15months from the time of application. I need to go back 15months and use the earnings I made in the 6months from 15months ago to qualify. Do you know if this will be OK?

Also I am hoping that my current unemployed status is not a problem. The form asks if I am Employed, Self Employed or Other. If i specify other do I not need to answer the occupation question that follows (Engineer)? And the current job title question after that (with Unemployed looking for work)?

Thanks!
