Tier 1 Extension Proof of Earnings

Post by tonynz » Wed Jan 11, 2012 12:23 pm

Hi there,

I am about to apply for my Tier 1 and in the documentation it states that two following is required:

- Payslips
- Personal bank statements
- Dividend vouchers
- Invoice explanations/payment summaries from the applicant's managing agent/accountant
- Official tax document generated by the tax authority or the applicant's employer (i.e. P60)

Does this mean I can submit my payslips and P60?

If you read clearly its written you must send at least two of the following from different sources as proof of your earnings:

This means you can send your pay slips which is from your employer and bank statements or letter from the bank for the maintenance proof.

You should send two docs from different sources, one can be your employer and another can be bank.

I have never seen my P60 so I don't know - I thought it's issued by the tax department? Or is it generated by the company?

It is provided to you by your employer. You are legally entitled to one if you are still working for the employer at the end of a given tax year - so do ask for it if you don't have one.
Please don't private message me or e-mail me for free personal advice - you are just wasting your time writing something that won't get answered.
Anything written here shouldn't be construed as being formal advice given in a professional capacity.

Sorry, but one more related question am I okay with the following?:

- Payslips
- Invoice explanations/payment summaries from the applicant's managing agent/accountant

My employer hires an external payroll company that does our payroll.

I can get them to give me a letter - will that be suffice?

You can give invoice explanations but bank statements or letter from the bank is mandatory, which will prove that your salary shown in pay slips is going in your account and also you have got sufficient funds in your bank accounts from last 3 months.
