Hello all,
First of all, I ‘d like to thank all of you for your effort to help each other. This forum is quite useful. Today, we got our ILR (me and my family-3 dependents) in just 7 minutes.
I am a work permit holder for 5 years with the same employer...my visa will end in three days.
My appointment was 10:30 am..allowed in at 9:45 am..given a token 9:50..caled for the interview at 9:55 am..asked to pay..10:02..pad the fees 10:05!!!...amazing quick!
The case worker was a forma but very nice lady..she welcomed me and asked me to have a seat..then asked for the application..she flipped over the application quite fast (20 seconds)..she stopped on three pages (2 sec each)..first, the absence section, then the page of asking fro your income..then section 7 (conviction)..she asked me for the absence sheet (I had a total of 245 days: 115 business and 130 annual paid leave)..I gave her the sheet (includes two different columns for business (highlighted with different colours)and holiday..the total for each column is added separately)..she looked at the sheet quickly (20 sec)..then asked do you have a letter from your employer to confirm the business trips..I said yes and mentioned I have also a letter to confirm my employment..she said please give me both..she looked at the employment letter first( 20 sec)..mainly at my salary and then looked at the business letter (2 sec)..she did not checked with my sheet..she did not checked my sheet with passport...nothing at all!!..then she started to make some computer checks..ticked a sheet with her (yes/no) sheet..added some notes (i.e. visa expiry dates, salary, etc..)..then printed one page..this page seems to be my entry clearance information since it was containing my old photo on it..then she asked about the life in the UK test for me and my wife and asked do you want to know the score..I said yes and it was 24 for both of us..then she asked for three pay slips and three bank statement..give her both (my bank statements included a sticky notes on from of my salary deposited every month)...she checked compare the pay slips with deposit in the bank very quickly (30 sec)...then she asked me for cohabitation documents (I prepared 23 letters: 3 joints, 10 each)..but she took only the three joint letters (council tax for 2009, 2010, and 2011)..and she said it is fine...then she told me she will make another check inside..she got back after one minute and said every thing is fine please pay and you will be granted ILR today..please come back within 30 minutes to collect the passport... want to counter 6 and paid in two minutes we went to touchwood mall for rest..got some coffee and treats for the kids and returned after 2 hrs and got the passported stamped..checked quickly and left the office..want to counter 6 and paid in two minutes..
Please note that I have been receiving child benefits (with an exception of our nationality under social agreement with the UK)...but she did not asked about it at all...she did not ask any question in general..
Overall experience was excellent ..very friendly staff!!! Good luck everyone and please let me know if you do have any questions.
