ILR about to apply but UTR is not yet recived

Hi,
I have registed has a self employed from 2010 may to 2011,two months ago and still my TAX UTR number is not received.Do we need to provide TAX UTR number when we go for ILR.My VISA is about to expire this month and I dont have a time to wait for TAX UTR number.When my account called HMRC , they informed that my UTR number is generated.Please kindly advice me on this.
