Tier 1 (General) - Extension - In Person Application Query

Post by mantasingh » Sun Jan 15, 2012 2:00 pm

Hi Gurus

I know my query may seem similar to many other posts but I couldn't find single truth, so raising the query here.

I am planning to apply for my Tier 1 (General) Extension in person in February, 12.

The cost of Application is as below:
- 1000 GBP (Postal)
- 1300 GBP (In Person)

Now "In Person" needs an appointment to be booked.
While applying I chose
Service : Tier 1 General
Now there is an option when I try to book an appointment.
- Are you applying using the premium service?

Now my query:
Q1. What difference it will make to my application if I choose either
- Yes
or
-No

Q2. Is there a different fee applicable for Premium Service on top of In Person fees (1300 GBP)?

UKBA website is confusing at I am not getting any post which can clarify my doubts.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the prompt reply.
This means that the Cost is same. So this answers my second question.

Request you to answer my first question as well.

Actually, I get lot of appointment slots when I select "No" but don't get any slot when I select "Yes" for the option
- Are you applying using the premium service?

What will be the processing times for selection either of the option?

if you select no, then you will be selecting that you do not wish to apply in person and you are applying by post. In addition, if you choose to apply by post you cannot book the appointment for biometrics until after you have applied and have received a biometric invitatin letter.

If you don't get any options when you select yes, then there are currently no appts available.

Thanks Greenie
Thanks a lot.

So the essence is that if I want to apply "In Person", then I must book an appointment with Premium Service as "Yes". Else I need to apply by post, if I don't get the Premium Service appointment.

Hope this will help many others who face the same question.
