Tier 1 (General) Migrant - ILR

Post by ammaralvi » Sat Jan 21, 2012 5:58 pm

Hi there:

My Tier 1 (General) Migrant visa was stamped on 29/05/2009 however I entered the UK on 18/10/2009 because my wife was expecting and I wanted to see her through her delivery. As I will be due for an extension after 29/04/2012 and suppose I'll get this, say for example, by June 2012 for next two years, it will expire by June 2014 in this case. However, I wouldn't have completed my 5 continuous years in the UK by that time and referring the guide at UKBA's website about calculating continuous period it only allows a maximum gap of three months from the date of issue of the visa to the date of your entry in the UK (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary - first paragraph on page 4).

My question with regards to the situation above is what's the safest way for my ILR? Any input will really be appreciated.

Thanks:

Ammar.
