visitor visa to dlr

Post by brenda1 » Sat Jan 28, 2012 1:18 pm

I just started my studies here and my children are here on a visit visa. I would like them to stay with me till i finish my studies but i recently got my student visa and i am not allowed to bring my dependant.
I intend applying for dlr before their visa expires, i want to know if they stand a good chance because of these conditions.
There is insecurity in my country, constant terrorist attacks and threats, kidnapping of children and killings of christains.
Their father will also provide letter from his employers that the children can stay with me because he works on the sea and(has been ) spends /spending weeks at work((on sea) and only comes home during his off-time.
Pls help.

The question from the UKBA would be, if you want your children to live with you, why not return to your home country and study there?

If you are saying that you and your family are at risk in your country and you can't return there then discretionary leave is not the appropriate leave to apply for. I would suggest you seek advice from an immigration lawyer before proceeding with this applicaiton for your children.
