Tier 1 General Dependent Visa

Post by cruzez » Fri Nov 11, 2011 4:15 pm

Hi My wife will be applying tier 1 dependent visa in India.

She is sponsoring herself, she is showing maintainance funds in her account.

Does this mean I do not need to show my bank statements? Problem I have is I did not maintain funds, my current account is in overdraft. I was unemployed for a month but recently recevied a Job.

List of documents she is submitting are:
1. Marriage certificate
2. Her Passport
3. Bank statements [India]in her account maintained over £1800 3 months
4. My Invitation Letter
5. My Passport and Visa copy
6. Job offer letter [started from 5th Nov]
7. Accommodation Contract and No Objection from Landlord.
8. Not sure about this document: My SAVINGS bank statement has only £20 in it just as additional document to prove that I really stay at the property. I do not have utility bills or anyother form to show that I stay at the property.

I do not want to show my current account as it is in overdraft by more than £900 since last 4 months.

I am living in UK over 3 years on tier 1 so I guess my wife only need to show £533

Can anybody comment on this. What are the chances my wife securing visa?

She is sponsoring herself
Really!! You are simply using her account to meet the maintenance requirement but you are the main tier 1 applicant, and she is now applying to join you as your dependant, so I am not entirely sure that she is really sponsoring herself there.
4. My Invitation Letter
when you say "invitation what do you mean exactly? What I would do is I would write a letter to support the application by explaining that I am the main applicant and that the wife is applying for entry clearance as my dependant - rather than an invitation letter. May I also encourage you to read the Policy Guidance in order to clear any doubts about bank statements etc
