Your husband is applying for a settlement visa, so you are British or otherwise settled in the UK?

If so to pass the financial test it is "merely" a question of showing that your husband will not need to claim certain Public Funds. So what is your situation? Are you employed? On the basis of your earnings, is it clear that your husband will not need to claim certain Public Funds?

No, I don't think so, but it will do no harm the "evidence folder" including particulars about your husband's employment prospects.

However in terms of the question you asked in your opening post in this topic, no it is not necessary for your husband to have a job to come to.
