Lodging EEA: foreign post (embassy) vs. in-country (tourist)

Post by a.s.b.o » Mon Feb 13, 2012 8:11 pm

Hey,

is there a difference in treatment of the EEA- family related application at the embassy versus in-country? Is the person allowed to stay while the UKBA consider the application (if the entry clearance lapses)?

Thank you

Are you asking this question in the context of your wish to bring your relatives to live in the UK? If their intentions are settlement, they should not enter the UK as tourists and should seek the proper entry clearance before hand.

The HO will not see it favourably if they seek to stay after entering as tourists especially if they proved they are self dependant in order to obtain a tourist visa.
