Are corporation tax returns essential? Anyone won without?

I am a contractor who trades through a limited company. I believe I make a good income. I started limited Jan 2011, but dont file corporation tax until Nov 2012, this is too long to wait for me....

Are these absolutely necessary, or will a positive letter from the ACCA certified accountant and detailed bank statements suffice? (also dividend vouchers etc)

edit: sorry I am applying spouse visa, my wife is in Ghana..Also have decent savings around 3-4k

please let me know any previous cases similar
