Travelling a few weeks before visa expiry

Post by sheetalshah » Mon Feb 20, 2012 2:16 am

Hi

I am an international student studying in UK. I am here since February September 2010. My Visa is expiring in May 4th 2012. The course I attended was ACCA of which I passed 6 papers of 9 for which I got previous visa. Now I need to decide whether to continue in same college or apply in another college and get extension.

I have the following query:-

Can I travel to my home country for a short visit and return a month before my current visa expires? Will I have any problems when I return to UK? Do I need any permission in form of a letter from my present college to make the travel to my home country or can I go without it. My visa says multi entry. Any replies highly appreciated.

If you have finished your studies, then the Immigration Officer may refuse entry.

Thank you very much for replying. Can you please tell me how will immigration officer interprete as my finishing studies? According to what was entered in my CAS or according to my admission letter at the college? The CAS stated that the present 9 papers I signed up for are completed on Dec 15 2011 and my visa expires in May 2012 while my admission letter with college states that my course ends in December 2014 [I signed up for ACCA+MBA dual course in the college]
