Mn1 for child while father waiting for naturalisation

Post by n_abhi_s » Thu Feb 23, 2012 12:48 am

Hi,
My application for naturalisation(an1) is currently pending, and I know, I could have applied for my son's mn1 application along with my an1 application, but was not having enough time. Now I want to apply for my son's mn1 asap. Please could anyone guide, when can I apply for his mn1, after I get naturalisation approval, after oath ceremony or after getting British passport.

Many thanks.

Does the child mother has ILR as well? The HO would expect the other parent if not applied for naturalisation to have ILR.

You can apply now, just clearly state in the child application (under the other information section), that you have applied for naturalisation and provide details of your application (so they can link the two).

Yeah, mother is having ilr too since jan 2011 as my son, family got ilr at same time with me in early jan 2011(5 yr stay as tier1 HSMP). She would not apply for naturalisation and remain on ilr, I called HO couple of days back with same query and their reply was bit vague and wanted me to wait until I get naturalisation approval, but I guess not every time HO call centre guys are correct in their answers
