HSMP and re-enter UK question

Post by fpvt2 » Wed Nov 01, 2006 7:01 pm

For someone with an HSMP visa, if he/she goes overseas, when re-entering the UK, besides his/her passport (with the Limited Leave To Remain stamp on it), what else does he/need to show to the immigration officer at the airport ?

If he/she is outside the UK for 11 months, when he/she go back to the UK, will he/she be able to re-enter UK ? Will the immigration officer give him a problem for being outside the UK for a long time ?
Thank you.

This posting is very relevant and i am interested in response from senior members especially.

My view is that the LLR is a 'residence permit' abeit with a limited validity. Ordinarily, one should be able to go in nothwithstanding the time spent outside the UK. That will become an issue during the ILR application. The critical thing will be to show the plans to extend the LLR before expiration.

Members who have personal experiences should please share.
