Morning,

Thanks for your help in advance, can anyone please advise me if anything needs to be signed or notorized for a UK Spouse VISA application. The VISA is being submitted in India (so my wife is Indian and I am British).

I have had photo copies of all my passport pages taken and signed and stamped by a solicitor so far, but that is it.

Everything else is original including my birth certificate, bank statements, employment contract, employer sponsorship letter, all original signed documents.

Does anything else need to be notorized or signed by a solicitor??

Any help ASAP woudl be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know only the Sponsor's passport needs to be certified and that is it. I also certified my sponsorship letter but that is not necessary. Everything else should be submitted as originals except some things i.e. screenshots of you inbox, printouts of online itemised bills etc if originals are not available.

Perfect - Thanks once again harv, Mira (my wife) just wernt to see another agent in India to ask about a question and he said you should get the sponsorship letter signed, but he is teh only person to say it out of a possible 20 people.

Thanks once again. Not going to bother to be honest, you saw my list of documents I have put so much in hopefully be okay. I saw a couple posts about having insuficant funds, little worried about that and my limited company and tax documents, you may have seen the reply I put on Jules post which you also replied to.

My finances are fine, just a little messy, lots of money transfers from savings to current. When i pay my self always put money in savings only even leave a very small balance in my current account and just transfer back in when I need to. Always done it, so can be a little confusing just hope they look at it properly and not just take a quick glance and reject. I have put a cover letter explaining. Dont know I do it, just a habbit but say 3k comes into my account i will transfer at least 2700 out straight away and before a DD or something is to clear transfer back, always keep my current account balance low. But it is clear that salary of good amounts are coming in.

Oh say the itemised billing, it is print outs from a online account, not an exact bill, just itemised print outs from the Reliance or Pennytalk website, do they need to be notorized?

itemised bills printouts do not need to be certified either as with other communication evidence as long as the evidence does not look as if it has been falsely created for the sake of a proof.

No, no news on the application yet. The status of my application is still 'Under process at the British High Commission', so I am waiting eagerly

All documents will be given back to us once the decision has been made i.e. visa granted (hopefully fingers crossed)... So waiting for this as well.

Defo - Fingers crossed for you, we just in teh process of filling out teh form now, did you do it your self or use an agent in India? are you tracking on the VISA4UK site? Or is that just for filling out the form?

I filled the form up by myself, but I did go to an agent here in the UK just to make sure everything is in place and the form is filled correctly. He got my sponsorship letter and passport copy attested by a registered lawyer as well.

I did not go for application filling agent in India because the details I would put in the form will definitely be missed by them and I could be misrepresented if things in the form are not entirely correct about myself and my partner. (Just my thought on the agents in India, but I could be wrong)

Yes I am using the VFS track your application page to check what is happening with my application, it currently shows processing at the British High Commission. VISA4UK is just for online filling of the form.

One new news for you, if you are applying on or after March the 5th you will have to fill the online application [http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... dia-online] and take the printout of the online filled application with you to the VFS office when submitting your papers. So the agents in India who provide form filling service will no longer be necessary, as the application will be filled online. This news of online application filling is also on the VFS India website.

Thanks for this again, I have started filling the form out my self on line, and goign to get it checked to, I agree talking or using agents in India is a waste of time in my opinion.

I do need a little help on it, do you mind if I ask you a few questions on the form?

I would recommend to fill out the written form first and get it right before starting with the online application. However I do not know whether it makes more sense the other way around or not.

That is exactly what I have done, but also on line you can go back and change things at anytime, and format wise it is probably easier actually.

Thats crazy I thought you would have to tick the yes box as IELTS is recognised by UKBA right??

You are only exempt from an English Test if you are from a majority English speaking country. Since India is not a majority English speaking country your partner is doing the IELTS course to satisfy the English language requirement.

If you are exempt from the English Test, you do not need to show any English language qualification for Settlement VISA.

Sorry but another questions, on the VISA form it asks about how often we meet (on the page it asks about when we met etc) What did you put on the question;

Well I visit India once or twice an year and I meet her every time I visit India. So I put down once or twice an year, I also attached copies of the Indian immigration stamped pages to confirm this within my documents bundle.
