uk tourist visa appeal

Help, My wife and i are going to a uk tourist visa appeal on monday. My wife is sri lankan/English i am English. she has a sri lankan daughter who wants to visit us here in the uk, we were refused a visa and i would like some advise on what to say and what not to say.
