Registering my child as a British Citizen from India

Post by Reddy10 » Tue Mar 06, 2012 7:43 am

Hi,

My son was born in UK on 10/01/2009. Me and my husband have ILR and I do understand that my son can be registered for British Citizenship directly without applying for his ILR.

I would like to know if I can apply for his registration from India as he is in India at present. If that is possible what would be the form that I need to use and the procedure to do that.

Thanks & Regards
Mrs. Reddy

Hi jambo I have one more question.....this was posted by u earlier....

But if the child is applying from India, then this is not applicable as this clause is for children living in the UK. Anyway, this clause is for children born abroad who are now living in the UK. Not for UK born children. For UK born children applying under section 1(3) the required documents are:
- UK birth certificate
- A parent passport showing ILR.

Here, are both the passports required or is it fine if only mother's passport is submitted?

Note the use of the word "A".
