Changing of WP to Tier 2

Post by ocraja » Tue Mar 13, 2012 8:05 pm

Need your urgent help. I m a WP holder issued in 2008 and expires this year December. Now I have a better offer from other company and need to change my employer. The new Employer is a Licence holder n will issue me COS. This new prospective employer wishes to employ on the same role and with a better package.

Can some one please let me know what is the right way to apply for change of employer n documents required. Is it a Easy process and once this is transfered to new employer will I be eligible to apply for ILR this year when i complete my 5yrs in UK.

Please your urgent help will be highly appreciated.

I did the same -- Change of job / employer.

You need to apply for Tier 2 general, you will still be able to apply for ILP after 5 years. As you are aware work permit is no more, and as long u apply inside UK it should't be an issue.

The whole process by post takes 2 months.
1 day by direct appointment and I doubt anyone will get that appointment as it is always not available.

Hope this helps.

Suggest you look at the actual application form for detailed information as to what is required:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... nform1.pdf

Applications can now also be made online.

Keep in mind that your new sponsor/employer must assign a Certificate of Sponsorship to you before you can apply.
