Biometric At Post Office

Post by orbis2 » Sun Mar 18, 2012 4:18 pm

We have received letter from UK Border Agency regarding Biometrics of my newly born child. As per the letter we can do Biometric at
1. Post office Ltd Branch
2. Home office Biometric Enrolment Centre.

My question is 'Can we go to any branch of the post office' Biometrics? or there are specific branches of post office in local areas ? & where can I find them?

Thanks,

Hi orbis2,

If you don't mine, can you tell me how many months old your child is? My child is 6 months old, how difficult it is to give the biometrics?

I just read your link, do we really need to pay for biometrics?

Thanks

From 10 April 2012, you will only be able to enrol your biometric information at one of 104 post offices nationwide and the option of enrolling your biometric information at a Home Office biometric centre will no longer be available.

As per the letter we received, after 6th April 2012 Biometrics will be done only at post office & its fee is £19.50. Before 6th April, we can book for Biometric at UKBA office & it is free.

Our baby is 4+ months old & at post office they asked me to cover my self with a blue cloth so i will not be visible, they provided the blue cloth so not to worry about it. Then I hold the baby for picture only & it was very straight forward, done in 2 minute. No figure or thumb scans are required for babies.

There were lots of people at post office so go early in the morning. As they don't take people in the afternoon due to lots of people waiting.

Anyone going to London should go to Battersea as I went to Early court first & it was so busy, no parking nearby, if you want to park then £1 for 20 min. Then I went to Battersea which is near Clapham junction.

There is an Asda just at 1 min walk from the post office so I parked there for 2 hours free.

Address of Battersea post office is 202 Lavender Hill London SW11 1AA

So anyone who is driving should go there, it average size or can say big as compared to other post offices.
