would Someone tell me if the nationality approval letter can by normal post or recorded post?

I believe ours came second class rather than recorded

Ours came through second class post and took 4 days to arrive...

What if the letter get lost? It's not completely unlikely if it's sent 2nd class, and we'll keep waiting until at least the 6th month since application, and by then the 90 days window to the ceremony might have passed!

I received the approval letter from HO and a letter from local authority with ceremony provisionally booked at the same day. I later on contacted the local authority to confirm the ceremoney appointment. So i guess your local authority should contact you at some point because they receive your Certificate of Naturalisation from HO.
