Average processing time for Tier1 General extension is as follows now a days.

if some one pay by debit or credit card he/she shall receive acknowledgement letter after 7 days.
biometric invitation letter : 4 to 5 weeks.
final decision: after 3 weeks of biometric enrolment in post office or PEO.
if successful ,
BRP after 7 to 10 days
so now a days,Total timeline is 7 to 8 weeks for a normal and smooth application,if complicated than it can take longer time for verification checks and final decision.
