Can PDF Tier 1 application form be filled from PC directly?

Post by ldbright » Sun Mar 18, 2012 8:23 pm

Has anyone filled in the pdf application form by typing on the PC directly (i.e using PDF editor). Will this be accepted by the HO?

It would save so much time, paper and energy if the form can be filled correctly and then printed out instead of another way around.

Can someone please kindly answer my question and hopefully this will benefit other people.

Many Thanks.

I am sure caseworker would be happy to see electronically filled up application form.

Last year, I had filled up my in-laws family visitor visa form using PDF editor and they had no problem is getting visa approval.

I wonder why UKBA publishes forms in pdf format in the 1st place? Is n't that to avoid people editing/making changes to the form. If one uses a pdf editor (which is NOT recommended by UKBA anywhere) to fill the form, the CW may be happy as he could read it clearly, but may also cause him worry whether there has been any changes made to the original form...

I personally wouldn't risk using pdf editor in case I am unlucky with the case worker who may not like it.

It is perfectly safe to use PDF editor, it is not mentioned anywhere NOT to use it so it same as filling it with hand.

As every form is printed by applicants so the chances of manipulation will be equal for both cases, either it is filled by hands or PDF editor.

I'm filling out these forms electronically since 2006. I'm sure it helps caseworker as well.
