"Past Earnings"

Post by Rajan » Fri Jul 23, 2004 12:18 pm

Friends I have a question about "Past Earnings"

- My compensation mentioned on the appointment letter is less than the min reqd past earnings. Its’ slightly lesser (Reqd- 6.45 Lacs but my Sal- 6.13). But when I add allowances, Bonus(from the same company & earned by me) etc. I cross the min reqd earnings. This income also coming thro’ payslip only(I have payslip showing these earnings & same entries in bank also). So, pls advise me wat to do?

Thanking U all !!!

if you have shown your bonus in IT return, then its all ok for you. If you are indian, then just try to find the post of asjay kumar singh. He described the earnings part very well.

Rajan, did u diclare this income i.e. bonus etc which is not mentioned in your appointment letter, for income tax purpose.

If you didn't declare it for tax purpose then you can't add into earned salary.

The only income which are not taxable and can be added as your earned salary in past 12 months are Providend fund, Medical and Superannuation , Provided you give them evidence why these incomes are not taxable based on your country laws.

Hope it helps.

Thanks Raj !

Some heads like flexible allowance(Car maintenvce+Petrol+Medical+Driver Salary) totaling around 150 pounds are not taxable here(atleast in my organization). But this April onwards that too is taxable  leaving Medical. So, in Form16 my taxable income is less than whatever i got as payslip(in Bank). What to do.?

If i add all months gross salary, then i am thro'. I 've pay slips & same date/amount entries in Bank.

Pls U guys advise me  . I don't want to delay my application more than a month( I've read the post by Kaya abt increasing the points :? ) \
kaya W R U ?

Here it goes!!

You can show ur pay slip+ bank statement+ form16+ Income tax return to mention that u earned total income more than shown in Form 16, But get a letter from your employer that the allowance which u r getting are not taxable and support their letter with some legal printout or govt rule which says these allowance are not taxable.

hope it helps!

Thanks Raj and others !

Sorry, i was out so couldn't reply early.

You are right Raj. But as i mention Fexi allowance my company gives that's not taxable (though that too made taxable now) .
But from where i can find such info which shows that such things are not taxables?

One thing more, i am thinking to apply within this month and by the time my case comes up(in 3-4 months), i'll be able to shift to a better salary/Job. In that case i'll be thro' without considering currency conversion (as i am at border in case of Past earnings) & i'll be in the queue also.
Experts Pls comment & help me out 8) !

Thanking U all !!
