MN1 documentation by postage

Post by amitedge » Fri Mar 23, 2012 11:47 am

Hi All

I have always been a quiet admirer of help offered on this website.

I and my wife got our ILR on 16th March 2012. I am looking to apply for my 7 month old UK born son's registration under MN1 form section 1(3).

My situation:
1. It appears that I will have to travel out of country in April.
2. All three of us plan to travel again in July.
3. The next NCS appointment in various centres around our place is on or after 10th April.

My questions/concerns:

1. I do not want to delay the registration application by 15 days because of the travel planned in July. So, I am trying to avoid NCS.

2. If I do not use NCS, I do not want to give my passport away because of my planned travel in April. I am thinking of using/sending my wife's original passport/biometric card for my son's registration. I will send a copy of my passport/biometric card as well. Is that going to be fine?

3. The health visitor and the GP have declined our request for professional references. I cant find anyone else for a 7 month baby. So, I am thinking of getting references from one colleage and one family friend - both British. Will that be fine ? Do I have to provide explanation or try to get a letter from the GP/health visitor saying they do not provide references?
I have already looked at the FAQ which suggests that HO generally do not worry too much about references for young children under 1(3).

I do not want to make my application any weak - so if required, I will wait to go for NCS.

Please suggest.

Thanks
Amit

2. Only one parent proof of ILR is enough so what you suggest is just fine.

With the BRP now in place for ILR, I would suggest you call the HO and ask if sending BRP is enough. It might be that they don't need the passport anymore for MN1 applications.

3. That's fine. I would not worry about the references.

Hi Guys

Sorry to add my own query to this post, but I am also in similar situation about my 19 Months old son. The GP & social worker has declined to sign as a refree.

Do you think will it be ok even for for 19months old on MN1 to get any two professional British citizen to sign as refree?

Appreciate your help!!

Thanks

Parvez

Thanks very much Jambo.

So, I will do the postal application with my wife's original. Will check with HO about BRP.

Will it make a difference if I get a reference from my manager (of a VAT registered company) instead of a colleague?

If the colleague meets the professionals requirement - no difference.

As I said, don't worry too much. People got approvals even without referees at all when applied under 1(3).

Thanks again. Neither the colleage/manager nor the family friend are in a professional relation to the baby applicant.

Do I have to fill the Section 3 o 4 for the application?

Both of us provide details in section 1 and consent in Section 6. Believe providing my wife's ILR originals will mean nothing in terms of the application form other than Section 7 where she will sign in the declaration instead of me? Or does it matter at all?

I meant professional as required for referees for adult naturalisation application, not in a professional relationship to the child. Never mind. Not an issue.

Section 3 & 4 in the application clearly state when they are applicable. They are not in your case.

A parent needs to sign section 7. If you send your wife documentations, better to have her sign it.
