Previous earning - new HSMP point system

Post by fpvt2 » Fri Nov 10, 2006 2:20 pm

In the previous system, earnings will be weighted to take account of the country in which they are earned.
For example,40,000 GBP earned in UK will give you 25 points, but 17,500 GBP earned in Mexico will give you 25 points.

Does the new HSMP Point system also take account the country in which the previous earning was earned ?
Thank you

.

Yes. The new points system takes into account the region from which you are applying.

Shockingly, our main website which specializes inimmigration & work permits (even more shockingly called http://www.workpermit.com ;) ) has some useful information on it. Thank you to our staff which worked quite a number of extra hours this week to figure what the Home Office blind-sided us all with on Monday.

There is possibility here for creative individuals who have some luck on their side:

Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP)

HSMP Points Calculator

See especially this link:

Basic Introduction

It has a chart of income levels by region.

Did you even read the guidance notes?

Yes, I did. I read the guidance for HSMP extension (FLR). In it, (page 25, #40) it says some of the previous earning can be earned overseas, but it
does not say if it also takes account the country in which the previous earning was earned.
I failed to mention in this forum my question was about HSMP extension.

I have a further question.
For past earning evidence it says to provide Income Tax Return (P60) and wage slips. For earnings earned overseas, do you provide the overseas tax return ?
Thanks

For extensions, you were supposed to be primarily in-country, and I strongly doubt they will weigh earnings in other countries differently. Convert to Pounds, and add to your in-country earnings.

Thank you.
Since it says that some of the previous earning can be earned overseas,
for earnings earned overseas, do you provide the overseas tax return ?
