Regarding Documents needed for NARIC

Post by paramjit2k » Sun Nov 12, 2006 4:42 am

Hi,

I have recently in 2006 completed Masters in computers Applications. I have obtained the provisional pass certificate from the university as final degree certificate will be given after 6-8 months.

Can I send the proviosional pass certificate and transcripts for evaluation purposes?

Yes... For NARIC, Provisional certificate & All semester's transcript Copy is enough

But for HSMP application Final Degree is Mandatory

As per Guidance document. for HSMP, Degree should be "awarded or conferred"

"Completed" is not enough. Our provisional certificate will have only as "Completed"

Few caseworkers may accept I agree.. But that is purely depend on our luck

I know many cases which been rejected for who submitted provisional certificate as "Degree not yet been awarded"

these was written in caseworker notes...

" Provisional certificates – These are sometimes provided if the applicant has
only just passed the course and has not yet attended an awarding ceremony,
which is usually in the first year. If the certificates are older than that then the applicant should have been given their official certificate.

Not all UK institutes issue a provisional certificate. Therefore, if one is
provided it should be checked by contacting the UK institute (as there may
have been exceptional circumstances for issuing).

They are issued in some countries overseas so they can be acceptable, but if
in any doubt the applicant should be asked to supply the original certificate. "

That is OK.. But that Provisional certificate MUST contain the word "Awarded" or "Conferred". If it just contains the word "Completed" and going to be awarded, then they will reject

If you dont believe my words.. Have a try & see :)

Actually I was in the same sitiuation as You.. I got master's degree provisional certificate in July 2006 and got NARIC certificate in August.. But my oisc registered consultant was not ready to apply before my final degree.

I told him I have provisional certificate, transcript & NARIC letter. Then also he strictly told me Final degree is mandatory. Not only one consultant, Two consultants told me same thing to me.Also they told they have experience on getting rejections by provisional certificate.

Hence I waited, I got final degree just by October. So only my HSMP application was delayed to october

Thanks for your suggestions; But Do read this:

Exceptional consideration
13. If there are exceptional reasons as to why you are not able to provide either your original certificate of your award or an original letter from the awarding body then you may request exceptional consideration of your case.

14. Work Permits (UK) may be willing to consider alternative evidence in support of your claim for points associated with your highest level qualification in exceptional circumstances, such as if you have been affected by war or natural disaster.

15. If there are exceptional and compelling reasons as to why you are unable to provide the required evidence then you will need to explain these reasons fully on the application form. You will also need to provide alternative supporting evidence as specified below.

16. You should note that unless we are satisfied that the reasons you are unable to provide either an original degree certificate, or in the case of individuals who are awaiting graduation a letter from the awarding body, are compelling then we will not consider the alternative documentation submitted.

I have reasons that university provide provisional certificate prior to the original certificate if needed on urgent basis...It is also clearly written on there website...

I am not saying that you cant win with provisional certificate... I just told it is risky...

This is NOT based on guidance note, THIS IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE

SAME GUIDANCE NOTE CLEARLY STATES THAT IT SHOULD BE AWARDED OR CONFERRED

Many caseworkers taking that line as their Guide

Take the risk if you want and try your luck

all the best :D

The thread u passed..the personmissed the ceremony of feb 2006, so degree must be from 2005 session...So more then 1 year cases they want final degree certificates...

If I am a 2005 pass out, does not make sense to send a provisonal degree...

But for 2006 pass Yes...

Your point is Ok

But my two of the oisc registered consultant was reluctant to submit even my application with Provisional Certificate & NARIC certificate, I just passed in June 2006

Do you think those consultants are fool? or they haven't read guidance note or what? or am I telling lie here :)

If you want to take risk , then OK, its your own wish

But dont think that I am telling absurd... No.. I am telling my own case, which is 100% true. Applying with Provisional certificate is RISKY

How did u got the final degree certificate so soon...it normally takes 6-12 months...

I know no one is here to joke...dont think i m taking ur things lightly... :!:

But I have no choice...I can't wait for another 6 months and apply for the HSMP with another set of new rules..that might happen like this time...

Hi Hari,

I need your advise in applying for NARIC. I did my b.com (1993) from osmania univertiy and MBA from andhra university in 97. I got my final degrees for both also.
1. Both my b.com(from osmania unvierstiy) and mba (andhra university) final degrees DOESN'T seem to be having 'awared' or 'conferred'. any probelm in this?
I want to send the two degrees i.e mba and b.com to NARIC. tell me the procedure for sending two degrees at once. can i send both together for evaluation or two seperately.

2. how much time it takes to get the validation certificate. you are the perfect example and help to get this work done. i have seen their website and i have to pay online and send photocopies to their address. do they send the validation certificate thru email or post. pl help

3. i will send my all semesters marks sheet and final degree to NARIC. i heard their database is also changed...i read it here on this site. is that true.

thanks,
Ln
