Does UKBA process application only after biometrics received

Does UKBA process application only after biometrics recvd by them or the case worker starts the process as soon as they receive the application irrespective of them receiving our biometrics info as it takes almost a month to receive the biometrics letter .[/img]

I have read somewhere on this forum somewhere.. that you get sent biometric invitation if application is considered valid (like fees paid, photos correct etc..).. but actual application is only decided once all biometrics are received..

Correct. It won't be considered by a caseworker until after you have given biometrics.

Ok so it means they will check my papers in details only after my biometrics received by them ? After they receive biometrics on an average how much time do they take to decide on an application ( tier1 extension) ?

it is not 2-4 weeks. the target is 75% of applications within 4 weeks of biometrics. Applications are generally taking longer at the moment as you will see from numerous posts.
