Earning period query

Post by nks » Fri Mar 30, 2012 6:01 am

Hello,

My company pays my salary for the month on 15th. If I am submitting my application on 20th, can I count that month's salary as 'earned'?

In simple terms, if I am applying on 20 October '2012, can my earning period be from 01 November 2011 to 31st October '2012?

Thanks & appreciate your valuable comments,
nks

I am in a same boat , I am applying on 28 and taking full month as a income .

I believe its depend on your income period . If you are taking period up to 20 , you can't take month salary ,

I hope this make sense .

Gentlemen,

There have been number of posts/threads around this topic. If you search you should see them. To conclude, some are favouring claiming the entire month even though you are appearing at PEO on say 28th of the month or 20th of the month (bearing in mind you have already been paid for this anytime prior to that). I am not a fan of this procedure, as I interpret the "Previous Earnings" as earnings which you already have made and not something you will make in future. If you appear on 20th and you are claiming upto 30th of the month, to me that classes as future payments. I have not heard of anything on this forum suggesting UKBA have or will reject the case for someone who have used the future payments, but my advice would be to avoid it if you can as you would not want to be an example for others.

Good Luck

Thanks guys, I think its more advisable to pro-rata salary upto the date of application. Minor complexity with explaining this through whole month payslip but saves any later unpleasant experiences.
Cheers,
