36 months extension only

Hello folks,

I have noticed in the new HSMP extension guidance notes that 'A maximum of 36 months extension will be given'.

Can anyone clarify thisy, I was hoping that a 4 yr extension is given these days. where as the guidance notes says it is 3 years.

the 36 months is for the 24 months visa for the 12 months visa they give 4 years and they mention it in the letter it is exceptional ..
