UKBA loves torturing us and I really don’t know why on earth we are (including myself) so obsessed to stay here indefinitely.
They gave me letter that further checks will be required. I am not sure what will that means and how long will it take. Someone told that it is because their departments are split recently and they cant see some files “ live”
Please share your experience and any news. Good luck everyone.

No news here either. As far as I know (and from reading reports on here) there have been no further technical problems this week so the applications that they couldn't process last week should have been dealt with by now. This delay is completely unacceptable when one has paid £1350 for a "premium" service.

I've been trying to establish from the various threads when we are likely to hear. This is a summary of those who have posted their experiences:

rk79 - attended Wed 28/3; received call Mon 2/4 in the morning
clipclap - attended Thu 29/3 - no update
Venk_it - attended Thu 29/3 - no update
friendandenemy - attended Thu 29/3 - received call Mon 2/4 in the morning
Sufiz - attended Fri 30/3 - no update
justAnotherNumber - attended Fri 30/3 - no update
auzaman - attended Fri 30/3 - received call Tue 3/4 at 0955
patagonian - attended Fri 30/3 - no update

Good analysis there. Thanks for the effort Patagonian. My solicitor is at Homeoffice today for another client and said she will verify with the customer service counter there. I will update it here as soon as I hear any news.

My Solicitor went and enquired but the answer was that the file was not ready yet and said will call once ready. they did not give her any expected times though she requested for one. Still waiting.....

File is not ready doesnt make any sense. Is there any criteria that they check the files on their turn or is there any accountabiilty? I would be very keen to know their system and work cycle. This wait is cutting me into pieces. I am worried of missing my brother's wedding and there are few people in this very forum who went for same day and haven't got the decison even after 3 months. I am kind of scared. Friends, why cant we all stand up and atleast make our voices heard.

That's just ridiculous. If the only reason the application wasn't decided on the day we attended was due to the IT problems then they should all have been dealt with on the next working day when the system was back up and running as promised on their website.

I am going to wait a couple more days before filing a formal complaint and then, if not satisfied, will be asking my MP to get involved. I doubt it will make any difference to the shambolic working practices of UKBA but this unnecessary waiting when we have all paid for a premium service is making me so angry

Yes, it is really frustrating and they have asked her why she has turned up though they didnt call her and she had to explain that she came in for another client and was enquiring as she was there. She is going to be there again tomorrow but have to wait and see if that would be an end to the long, agonising wait even after being told everythings fine with the application.

Hello Sufi,

Many congratulations. Really happy for you.

I am on WP and becuase i change there employers in last 5 years, there is a hold up to confirm wiith other dept. They gave me letter saying there will be further checks to me made etc. Did they give you any such letter?

Also this is surprise they didnt call you. They only posted documents to you.

This is very strange but again congratulations.

I dont know when our wait will end..

Congratulations and thanks for the update. Did they tell you they would call but then just sent the docs back to you without phoning first?

Sure lahore, was surprised when i got home to see package sent via Royalmail. I was worked up all day not even taking eyes off my phone and jumping whenever it rang thinking it wld be ukba. I didnt get a letter just told due to system failure we cannot proceed with application today, we will call you. I was so scared they wld either lose my docs or take ages to send me decision. I must say prayers and this forum helped me much. I pray for yrs too mate
