PIO

Post by smatt » Thu Apr 05, 2012 10:01 am

Can anyone please tell me whether we can apply PIO in India on a 6 months Tourist visa, I am planning to India in couple of days so no time for PIO here in UK.

If I apply PIO card for my baby in Uk even though baby is in India, can I collect without having original BP, please members and Administrator kindly advice me, people who collected kindly share, treat it as very urgent as HCL office is also closed until Monday.

a) Although it does not say PIO specifically, Foreigners
Regional Registration Officers in India should be able to
handle PIO applications as well (I haven't tried this option personally).
Here is the address list (few Indian phone numbers there to try, although I doubt if you get through).

b) You will need Original British Passport to collect PIO from HCI. No need for the baby to be physically present as parents can collect on his/her behalf.
