Green Card Application Times!

Post by h_r_w » Thu Nov 16, 2006 9:26 am

Hi,

I live in the UK with my husband and we are now moving to states (he is British passport holder and I am US passport holder). I filed my I-130 Petition for Alien Spouse in May and have since been approved to the next stage. We followed instructions and sent the DS-23O-I immediately back as suggested and have Medical set for Dec and then we will have ticked all boxes for the DS 2001 & Checklist. Through research on the US Embassy.Gov site, I just became aware that 'those registered for immigration in the family or employment based preference categories are subject to the annual numerical limitation on immigrants admitted into the United States.' My question is, is it best to send checklist in at Dec as this would be the end of the year as this would delay processing or wait till Jan 1st as it will be the first seen for the new year?

Thank you kindly.
