New rule minimum salary reqd 35000pa

Post by anasjamil2 » Wed Apr 25, 2012 4:32 pm

Hi,

I was reading news and the rule says student should get job for minimum 35k. Is it also meant for Tier1guys?

I came to UK 2010 and my pay is 33000-34000, will it going to effect me when i go for extension in 2013?

Is there any rule while applying for extension that your minimum pay has to be XYZ for Tier1?

here is the link of that news:
http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/stric ... herstories

Thanks

The link you have pointed is for the people who won't be able to apply for Tier-1 PSW visas anymore and would still get UK companies sponsored visa provided they are offered salary above £35k.

If you are on Tier-1 General, you can apply for an extension under the same rules(age, earnings, degree etc) which were valid on the date of your initial application.

Thanks

Thank you Raja. Please can you explain a bit more on my situation.

1. My pay was 34000 upto Feb2012.
2. Got yearly Bonus 1700 in March 2012. Paid tax on it.
3. Pay increased to 34700 in March 2012.

Do i have to show 35000 earned in last 12 months when i apply for extension in Feb2013? will i be able to include yearly bonus 1700 that i earned March2012?

Well, if in 2013 Feb, I have to get a company letter saying my Pay is more than 35000 then I won't get one because my pay less, it is the bonus that i am willing to show.

Please help.

are you here on Tier 1 general? if so, as already pointed out, the 35K rule has nothing to do with your application. The article is also incorrect - it is not the case that students switching into tier 2 will need to be earning 35K, rather tier 2 migrants who applied for tier 2 after april 2011 will need to be earning 35k in order to qualify for ILR.

why don't you have a look at the UKBA website where you can find information about the tier 1 requirements, rather than an Indian media website?
