Accommodation queries

Post by juanita » Sun Apr 22, 2012 8:19 pm

Evening all=

I wish I had known about this forum earlier - not right just before I need to submit my application form! Anyway, I have some queries about accommodation. My boyfriend and I got married yesterday after known each other for a year and a half. I am under Tier 1 visa (expired end of next week) and will be going to submit my FLRM visa tomorrow or the day after.

My boyfriend and I haven't lived together yet. We both have our own place and we both work, and both of us earn about £40k in combination. Since we only got married yesterday we had been house-hunting for our family home.

My questions are:

1) Although we haven't lived together yet, we will do so imminently when we find our family home. We anticipate this to happen in the next two to three weeks. Is this acceptable for our application to prove intention to live together permanently? We read the guideline on the UKBA website but it's not clear on this point, we think.

2) What if we wait until end of July? We need to give our landlords 2 months notice before we can go somewhere else. We are willing to move in into a new place and pay the rent, and at the same time pay the current landlords until the contracts end, but obviously this involves a huge amount of money.

Please could someone help me, ta muchly.

Yours, Juanita

Not sure whether I can help since I am a newbie here too. What you are actually asking is that, you have the intention to live together, but you're not physically living together yet. Is this right?

Apart from the recent wedding...what evidence can you submit to show the relationship is genuine? The case worker will be scrutinising this, especially as your current visa is so close to expiry.

Correct. Is there any document that I can read, and if no one can help me, is there any other place that I can contact to get some advice?

We've known each other for six years and will send proof of this
