In some cases, the acknowledgement letter never comes, they just send the biometric letter! But, to be on the safer side, you may want to call them up and see whats the status !

Well, I did call them and been told I should not suppose to call before 4 weeks. Which I find quite weird after paying so much I am not even entitle to verify that they have received my document safely.

Backlog of what? PSW applications are not refugee or asylum applications that they take ages or require barrister to decide.

yes but they have had a massive surge of applications and therefore it is obvious they will take longer to deal with.

Lets say there are 20 people in that dept that deal with PSW applications...normally they get about 2000 applications per month and they process them in 4-6 weeks...but now the applications must be a lot more...then same 20 people could only process a set number of applications...thats why delays are happening.

Yea I know what you mean; I haven’t got a dispute about that, they can take as much time as they want but sending acknowledgment doesn’t require much work force. Besides PSW didn’t finish all of sudden they knew this all along past few month; I suggest there should be precautions to deal in such busy situation.

There was a quote that we can contact the UKBA if our application is pending for more than 4 weeks does anyone know what is that number?

If you can share that with it will be a great help

That’s the only number I know, and trust me the sort of help you will get from this number will force you to regret why you even came in this country.

I applied 2nd April
Acknowledge received 30th April

Hi Saliame (and anyone else who sent their applications on or about 03 April) - could you tell me please if you have received ack letter or had your fees deducted? I posted mine on 03 April and neither has happened and when I ring UKBA they said it still hasn't been loaded onto the system.

Many thanks.
