Break in employment

Post by jataprolu » Mon Apr 30, 2012 3:38 pm

Hi,

I am applying for ILR end of this month. I have worked for an employer from 3rd May 2011 (i.e. Tuesday) to 3rd June2011 (i.e. Friday) and then i have joined another company from 8th June 2011 (i.e. Wednesday) and still continuing in the same company.

My question is if i am claiming the earnings points from 3r May 2011 to 30th April 2012, will my previous employment earnings will be considered (3rd May 2011 to 3rd June2011)?

The reason i am asking is because in ILR application form it says "consecutive 12 month period from the 15 months immediately before this application"
But there is a gap of 2 days which i.e. 6th June and 7th June. Will this be a problem?

Please help

Thanks,
Srinivas

The points are for earnings not for continuous employment. You don't even need to be employed.

Thanks for your reply. I think i have framed my question wrong. i mean to day is I am getting my earnings from both the employments in those 12 months and there is a break of two days in those two employments.

That 2 days break won’t cause any issue.

Hi
The phrase is "12 consecutive months in last 15 months".
i.e., March 11 - Feb 12 OR Apl 11 to March 12 OR May 11 to April 12.

In March 11 to Feb 12, you may not have show earnings/employment (if in Tier1) for any month(s) in between the period but YOUR EARNINGS in that only be considered for your point calculation. e.g., you can be out of employment from March 11 to June 11 but have earned 35K(again example) from July to Feb 12. This amount has to be ONLY shown for claiming points.
One of my friend did extension by showing just 6 months salary and dividend.
