You can use multiple accounts to cover the required maintenance funds. If you were to use a joint account, ensure that you are a joint account holder for the period you would use that account to cover the short fall. Eg - If you need £100 in Mar 12, and you intend to use your joint account, your name should be on the account at that point and not added in say April. Hope this helpsszavelin wrote:Hello looking at my bank statement over past 90 days I have 10-15K in US dollars most of the time except two days in Feb the daily balance dipped below 800 ($1296) by 50 dollars.
Is there anything I can do or is this an automatic disqualification?
My brother says he wants to add me as a joint account holder, etc. Anything else I can do anyone please give advice. Or am I doomed as far as extension?
Thanks
As much as I hate to say, you're are out of luck. There is a chance you can take with using a joint bank account by adding your name now and use that account to cover up the shortfall in previous month. I am not convinced that it will be legal move. Think, and think harder, account even in different country will be fine. Monies in Current account is considered too. I hope you find a way. Good Luckszavelin wrote:Hi Sage, don't have multiple accounts... So out of luck completely?
Well, this will be really tricky for even a good lawyer to turn around in your favor as it is a mandatory requirement for T1 visa extension. I am sure you would have tried all possible resources, but think of that one little thing you may have missed out what could prove to be a life savior. If not, take a chance of adding yourself on ur brother's account and use that to cover the shortfall. But do seek an advice of professional on its legitimacy, as I am not too sure.szavelin wrote:thanks so much again Rax. Well mine was about 1250 on that day, that's the problem. u think hiring a good lawyer and requesting a consideration might help out or that plus added fee is a waste of money? This 800 pound requirement is really dumb, I spent that much on a hotel one weekend.
