Application Queries

Post by artcodex » Tue Nov 28, 2006 7:44 am

Hi,

I am planning to apply for a HSMP visa soon, and while filling in the forms came across some queries regarding the past earnings section of the form.

Question 30 asks for the amount you earned, is this in your countries own currency or in pounds?

Question 28 asks for the relevant country code, is this the band eg. A, B, C, D, E or somehting else?

Question 31 asks for the income band is this the band A, B, C, D, E or the income value band eg. 11,500+, 12,500+ or something else?

The way they have posed some of these questions makes them slightly confusing

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, maybe it will answer some application questions for others as well

Regards

Question 30 asks for the amount you earned, is this in your countries own currency or in pounds? This question asks about where do you get the earnings you would like to claim. If it is on a different currency then you need to convert it to pounds. www.oanda.com is a good website. Say you are earning your salary in the US. you need to convert from US$ to GB pounds

Question 28 asks for the relevant country code, is this the band eg. A, B, C, D, E or somehting else? Once you determined in what country you get paid (or earning), check the list of countries mentioned. Like in my example above, USA belongs to Band A.

Question 31 asks for the income band is this the band A, B, C, D, E or the income value band eg. 11,500+, 12,500+ or something else? This question answers in what particular salary bracket are youi earning? are you earning 30,000 or 45,000 or 60,000. Each bracket has its own equivalent points that will be added into your overall points

The way they have posed some of these questions makes them slightly confusing

Hi,

I also would like to apply for HSMP under the new rules. Anyway, I need guidance on how to go about these things. Here is the plan I have and I ask and somebody please confirm that what I plan to do is the right thing to do and if the all the details I have are accurate. Reading through things here gives me shivers... :(

1.) Young Person Qualification - 20

- Have my birth certificate ready
- Have the details page of my passport ready

2.) Education/Degree Qualification - 30

- Have my qualifications assessed by NARIC and this would take 15 working days at max to be assessed.

3.) Earning - 25

- Prepare my Income Tax Return 2005 as my 2006 will not yet be available until April 2006.
- Prepare my payslips.

Any suggestion on what else I can use to fortify my earning power?

I am having cold feet on this...

Thanks,
Jan

for earinings.

the tax returns you show must cover the period of time that you're claiming.

for example- if you're showing the pay slips for 2006 (Dec-Jan) then you need to sho 2006's tax return. since 2006's tax return won't be filed until april i woudl recommend you do the following:

submit letter from employer stating that yoru salary from dec-jan 2006 was this....

submit all yoru bank statements showing all your paychecks being deposited. covers all yoru bases.

well said meggles.

jan...cover all possible loose ends...get bank statements ready as proof, get a letter from empoyer on earnings received from company, tax returns. however, make sure the additional docs provided aim to support the claim on earnings.
