Can i bring my son if i hold a spouse visa?

Post by yanetq » Sat May 05, 2012 9:11 pm

Hello there!

I used this forum as my main source of information when i applied for my Spouse Visa a year ago and it was a very quick successful case due to all the great information and advice i found here. I really hope i can have your advice once again.

When i applied for my spouse visa, i made the mistake do not include my son in my application, i mean, i clarified i had a child, but he wouldn't fly with me. I married an English citizen, and as i haven't been here before, i didn't want to bring my son until i feel settled here and he finishes his school year. Now that i am settled, have a job, a happy marriage and everything seems just right, i want to bring my son over here, to live with me. He is 12 yrs old and is leaving with my parents at the moment. He doesn't have a father, in his birth certificate as a "parents" its only my name, so, I'm his solo supporter. Now my questions are: Can i bring him here if i hold only a spouse visa? or i should wait to be permanent? and what sort of visa i must apply for?

i would really appreciate any advice as some one told me i can't bring him here if i only have a spouse visa, which made me feel very upset.

thank you very much!

Yes, you may. If child's father is alive, then see also sole responsibility.
