AN form Referees

Post by web2005 » Tue May 08, 2012 10:28 am

Hi, I am about to apply for naturalization using form AN. Bit confused about finding referees to sign my application. I work for a university in IT systems and thinking to ask head of my team to act as professional referee. Do you guys think working in public sector he can act as professional referee?

I have asked my GP for this but surgery refused to book an appointment with GP as they don't sign naturalization forms.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

I don't think this counts as a civil servant but if he has qualifications, he would be OK. See last question in the sticky FAQ - most common questions.

Thanks. Not sure what professional qualifications he holds but being manager in university doesn't qualify him to act as referee?

You can always ask the UKBA to be sure, unless he is a member of the BCS or is a teacher at the uni then I would argue not but these things are always a little random and a lot will ultimately depend what they write on the form.
