MN1 Without BRP - Need urgent advise

Post by chathul » Wed May 16, 2012 8:32 am

I am a victim of Croydon IT Issue. Applied on 25th April and approval dated 5th May. I paid and booked an appointment for citizenship registration for my my daughter on 18th. I must reschedule the appointment today otherwise I lose money. Please can someone advise whether I can apply for MN1 without BRP. Much appreciate your advise.

Presuming your appointment is with ncs, why don't you call them and ask?

Thank you so much for your advise greenie. Rang the person deals MN1 application and confirmed that they can phone the home office and get a confirmation from them to go ahead with my daughters application. Will update this thread.

chathul: I would suggest rescheduling the NCS appointment as they would not take your application without at least one of the parent’s ILR.

I had my appointment this morning, and they asked for the following: (my ILR was the first thing they asked).

• MN1 Form
• Completed fee page
• Old and current passports of my child
• My BRP with ILR
• Child’s UK Birth Certificate
• Marriage Certificate (as I didn’t take my wife with me, otherwise you don’t need it).

Hi Linkers.

Thanks you so much for your update. Has the current visa expired on your child passport or did you apply before the expiry?

Spoke to NCS and we loose money if HO didnt agree to go ahead with application. So I am going to reschedule. Thank you so much

Hi chathul: if a child is born in UK, then you don't need a visa for him/her unless you are travelling.

I actually got ILR for my child at the same time as I got mine as I had travel plans in next month. (I could have skipped ILR for my child if I wasn't travelling).

The UK registration+ passport can take at least 2-3 months and I couldn't afford to wait for that long and got my child's ILR too.

The reason I used NCS, so that I could get all my original documents (passports and BRP) back so I can travel without needing to worry about my child's UK citizenship application.
