canceled current COS - need urgent help

Is it necessary to cancel the current COS ask the current employer to cancel when I new COS from new employer and made the application now

You need to explain in more detail. What do you mean by your 'current cos' when was this issued?

Dear All

Let me clarify

1, I had cos issued 7 months back and was working in the same employer informed them that I have new offer and will quit once I get new COS from new employer and I informed the current emploer to cancel this current COS . which is done and I have got new job offer and new cos from new employer and applied for application for tier 2 visa
my question is
1. was it right that i canclled the current cos which I WAS WORKING
2. SHOULD I HAD WORKED WITH CURRENT EMPLOYER WITHOUT CANCELLING COS TILL I GOT NEW VISA APPROVAL..THATS MY DOUBT
CAN SOME ON ADVICE ME ON THIS
