Nothing will be changed. Make alternative plans.

Wow. I got my HSMP approval in May 2006 for 2 years and was busy with moving to the UK and setting up my own business here that i neglected to check about the HSMP programme and the forums. i am incredibly stunned at how wide ranging the changes are and especially how it would affect those in the programme retroactively.
I sympathize with those who have gave up everything to come to this country in search of a better life and now face the prospect of utter destruction of their dreams.
It is the right of the british goverment to change the rules, but to apply them retroactively goes against the very british concept of fair play. European protectionism has reared its ugly head again, the policy changes reeks of beloved, discrimination and utter lack of morality.
The protests and proposed judicial actions against the new rules are notable but i fear that they will ultimately be useless. After all, the british goverment, the british public, big businesses and those who have the power to even remotely do anything about it have no incentive to do so.
Although I will still qualify under the new rules, I cannot in good conscience continue to contribute to this country.
I urge everyone who has been affected by these rules, whether they qualify or not to consider alternative options. Canada, USA, etc... there are many other options available for the skilled and willing. The british government has made it clear that protectionism is the order of the day, let us leave in droves and contribute to those who value us. If the british goverment continually wants to degrade its competitiveness in this global economy, please let them do so.
