Husband is full British national, Wife has UK settlelment visa (the two year one).

If a child were to be born outside the UK would he/she be British? Would he/she be British through the father anyway?

So the father is British, but where was the father born? And if born outside the UK, how is he British, by Naturalisation?

So how does the child enter the UK if he/she is born abroad? Do you apply for a (UK) Child passport?

What if I were to apply for it here in the UK and send it back? The country is Pakistan BTW.

Reading the Direct Gov site on child passports it says I need my birth certificate and his/her birth certificate, would a translated one do? Do they accept forieign birth certificates...

The FCO says it could take 6 months for a new child passport, which is an unbearable wait.

A British citizen by descent cannot pass on British nationality to his child(ren) born overseas.

If the child is not in the UK then you can't apply for a passport from within the UK.
