Five years period count to qualify settlement in UK.

Post by Vishaal » Fri Jun 01, 2012 11:14 pm

Hi,
I would be very grateful if some one help me to clear my confusion regarding my work permit 05 years period count to qualify ILR.

I am going to apply for Indefinite leave to remain visa as son as possible, I entered in UK 2005 as a student. In 2007 while i was still on a student visa I applied for a job and my employer applied for a work permit for me which was issued on 10/08/2007 by the home office and I was advised to apply for leave to remain, which i applied and sent application & passport for leave to remain visa to home office by post, i received my passport back with new vignette leave to remain visa for 05 years which was issued on 12/09/2007.

Now, I would like to know that my 05 years work permit count to qualify ILR started on 10/08/2007 (when work permit was issued) OR I should start counting it from 12/09/2007 (when my passport was endorsed with leave to remain vignette visa).

Thanks in advance for your help.
