IT Return Exceptional circumstances

Post by Jk2007 » Thu Dec 14, 2006 7:57 pm

It appears that one candidate has already been refused HSMP, because he did not provide evidence for claiming "exceptional circumstances" for not providing IT return.

I arrived in UK at the end of March 2006 and all my earnings are in this Tax year 2006/07 only. For Earnings, I could not provide IT returns and claimed "Exceptional Circumstances", and informed that all my earnings are in this tax year only and since this tax year has not completed, no IT return is available yet. Is this reason enough, or should I have provided any evidence for "exceptional circumstances" for not providing IT return?

Since the UK tax year runs from Apr to Mar the following year, your tax returns certificate (P60) will not be ready till around Apr next year. Thus under the exceptional circumstances, you MUST provide either your bankstatements or a letter from your employers showing a breakdown of how much you have earned during the period for which you are claiming points for earnings.

If you dont provide either documents along with your payslips, it's most likely your application will be refused.

It's well explained in the FLR(HSMP) forms

lanr3e,

In addition to Pay slips, I provided Bank statements and a letter from the Agency showing the period of my contract and my daily rate.

So I hope there will not be any problems for me.
