ILR Self Employed- some queries

Post by ITGraduate » Thu Mar 29, 2012 4:39 pm

Dear Experts/Moderators/ Seniors,

I'll be applying for ILR in 3 months. I'll be applying under HSMP - 2yrs , Tier 1 General 3 yrs. ( non JR ) .During My first 3 years I was working for NHS Trust, since last 2 years I'm self employed ( dont own any company, I work as a contractor and I pay my own taxes through an accountant and NI ) I've 270 days of absence excluding travel days( 120 business related - I can provide letters from my company for whom I work as a contractor) and ( 150 personal with paid leave ) NONE OF MY ABSENCE IS MORE THAN 59 DAYS AT A STRETCH.

Please help me with my queries:

1- Do I need to get a letter from ICAEW ( Institute of Chartered Accountant in England and Wales ) to prove that my accountant is registered with ICAEW?

2- Do I need to get SAR report? ( i know its not mandatory however I read the few posts in this forum who mentioned it might add value to my application for ILR )

3- Can I go personally to PEO for my ILR? Given especially in solihull because there are no Grade 7 senior staff, they send you back asking you to post, I want to know If my case is straight forward for PEO application? Should I get my appointment in Birmingham PEO or Is Croydon PEO better for my case?

These are my final questions regarding my application. Please could seniors help me with these queries.

Thanks,

staffordjafar

Dear Fahad,

Many Thanks for your response.

I was under the impression as long as I don't exceed 90 days at a stretch and I can prove my absences were business related, I don't need a grade 7 officer approval. I assumed solihull should be ok for me.I believe I was wrong.

So Did you mean I book at croydon?

Thanks,

staffordjafar

Thanks very much, given SAR doesn't say anything more than visa details I am not going to apply for it

Please could you answer my first question

1- Do I need to get a letter from ICAEW ( Institute of Chartered Accountant in England and Wales ) to prove that my accountant is registered with ICAEW?

Thanks,

Thanks for giving me the information, I'll make sure to use a accountant who us registered with one of the bodies mentioned by the Home Office

I hope my accountant will have the letter which states he is registered with ICAEW and I believe he will give me a copy of it.

What level of details do the Caseworkers check with the accountants?

Thanks

I am employed + self employed. I am going for ILR under 2yr hsmp + 3 yr tier 1 in 5 weeks time. got a query. please help

I'm going to claim earnings from last 12 months between July 11 to June 12. I am claiming 24K.I have no issues with that.

My query is :

Is it Ok if my earnings between financial year April 2011 to April 2012 tax year is only 18K. Does it have to be more than 20K?

Please help

Is any such requirement specified in the settlement policy guidance?
