spose visa -

Post by strictly-confidential » Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:32 pm

Hi guys I am fairly new to this forum but I have been reading about other discussions and found this forum very helpful. Wonder if some one could help answering my question.

I am British Citizen present and settled in UK. I got married in 2005 and divorced in 2009 with no children. I have married again in November 2011, this time with a foreign national from a non-EU country. My wife is currently going through her IELTS exam preperation and hoping to complete her IELTS by the end of July2012, after which she will apply for her spouse visa to come over and live with me.

The senario I have is when she makes the spouse visa application, will she be asked about my previous marriage and will the divorce document be required becuase I have lost it as a result of a burglary at my place last year. I do understand that I can obtain a copy of decree absolute from the court but will that be a requirement? I am just trying to have every thing ready by the end of July to avoid possible delay in the application process.

I will appreciate you help!

You'll need to submit the copy of your decree absolute. Without it, the application will be refused. If your wife is interviewed she may well be asked about your previous marriage. If you haven't told her, now's the time to do it.

Make sure you comply with the new UKBA rules which will be in place from the 9th July.
