The EEA permit is fine for a visit. You could possibly even dispense with this and enter without one, but airlines are relucantant to board passengers who can't show they have permission to enter the UK.

EU Free movement permits EU nationals who are travelling with their partners to cross border. All you would need is a marriage cert. The UK would certainly be fine with this but first you have to get past the airline check-in, and carrier's liability issues make them very wary of boarding visa nationals without a visa. However, it does depend on the experience of the carrier.

Possible.

The advantage is that you don't need to deal with airlines and that the UKBA are examining your documents before boarding (on the French side) so you deal directly with them.

Immigration matters on the Eurostar are handled directly by UKBA staff before your board. It's not the same as with an airline, where the carrier's check-in agents perform this task,

EEA FAMILY FOR 6 DAYS VISIT

Post by NewJD3 » Wed Jul 04, 2012 10:38 am

APPLICATION SUBMITTED

I have now submitted my application for EEA FP a week ago, with all the required documents you can think of.
My question is, I submitted a work contract that expires today and i have been issued a permanent contract by my company here in poland. Should i send an email to the embassey requesting that i need to update my document, or its not necessary.
????

thanks in response

The work contract wasn't required at the first place so I don't see a reason to update a document which is not necessary.

In general, it is better not to submit unnecessary documents as the ECO might use them (wrongly) against you (they have been reports in the forum).

It was necc=essary because 6 days visit might look silly and trikish, so i needed to prof that our visit is for real since i got a job here and that i am for sure going for a short period wit my partner.

thanks

It might look silly but legally the purpose and duration of the trip are not required for a decision.

it doesn't matter if you are visiting for 1 day or moving permanently. It doesn't matter if you are visiting the queen or going to be Barclays CEO. If you are a family member of EEA national travelling together/joining him, a Family Permit should be issued.

perfect, very true. But its a shame that they dont reason it that way, because i have heard of undue refusals of EEA FP ..

THNKS , I WILL UPDATE MY DESCISION

Does any one knows how long it takes to process EEA FP?

Most EEA Family Permits seem to be processed on the same day as application, but normally they do not tell you of the results for one or two weeks.
